Two years ago today, a major chapter in most of our lives came to a dizzying close. The release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows:pt.2 marked the end as we knew it: of a cultural phenomenon unlike anything we’ve ever seen, of an era gone sweetly by, and of an entire decade spent anxiously anticipating the Next Big Harry Potter Release™. We mourned so thoroughly that our grief felt akin to losing a close friend. And yet…
We didn’t lose anything, not really. While there may never be a new adventure to go on, they’re all still very much there. When our hearts are hurting and we feel alone, we just have to open our books or put in our DVDs and there they’ll be: Harry, Ron, and Hermione, waiting to take us by the hand to pull us through. Because the stories we love best do live in us forever, and whether we come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will ALWAYS be there to welcome us home.
